I have been asked about building a single speed rear wheel based on Shimano MX coaster brake hub (1970's vintage). I am told that the spoke holes in the hub are ~5 mm in diameter.
Anyone here have experience with this hub?

Just consider how large the slots are in the original ROLF hubs, and you'll know what I mean.
BTW. Doesn't Shimano have any contemporary coaster brake hubs which you could use?
