  1. From the BBC site: -

"Injured Boonen pulls out of Tour"

"Sprints leader Tom Boonen has been forced to pull out of the Tour de
France after suffering a high-speed downhill crash on Wednesday."

Apparently he burst a vessel under his patella resuling in serious
swelling. Also claims to have had bad luck (3 crashes) and if he hadn't
he would be 100 points ahead of everyone else.

Strange, when McEwen had a clear run he actually managed to ride right
over the top of Boonen. Then again I don't see McEwen winning many
    classics.

I wonder if Robbie will now decide to go for the green (he said he
wouldn't after the relegation). I can't Thor or Stuart holding him off
    if he goes for it.

    Cheers

Ja, read that on cyc news before watching the TV coverage. Pity, I reckon. I want McEwan to get it coz everyone here knows I'm Aussie and it'd be cool to see an Aussie take it again. They kept pointing out O'Grady and how well he was going today 🙂

He still had a crack at the sprint today. Too far back for points though, right?
Is it possible for him to get back to the top of the sprint points ladder?

Yes, but he has to win just about every bunch kick. He's faster than
Thor or Stu though, so it's possible for him. It remains to be seen
if his team is strong enough to do it. They tried to reel in
the break last night and couldn't.
