  1. What a great finish .. good sprint, little damage to anyone.

    It always beats me how the field time their run to catch the breakaways with
    only one or two k's to go .. and it must be just a little dis-heartening to
    be caught so close to home ... 😉

    Good moves from the Yellow jersey through the day to keep hold of it too ..

    I've seen two-man breakaways caught simply because they start faffing in
    the last km about who will lead out the sprint. They seem to think
    they're doing a match sprint on the velodrome, and before they know it
    the peloton has eaten them up.

    Yes, seen that before. I think todays were trying to stay away, just simply
    got caught.

    I think it's because the field have plenty of spare power available -
    but it's work to use it, so they only turn it on for the shortest
    necessary time.
