Tell me more about this. Anyone with experience in taking some. It's been years since I encountered discussion of spirulina.
Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that grows
in dessert ponds. Hot fresh water. Under a microscope
it has a spiral shape and that's where it gets its
name from.It is vegan and it has a form of B12, one of the few
vegan sources. I've read various opinions about how
well it is absorbed. It is very high protein for a
plant, and I have no idea how carby it is.For folks who want high protein, it's a reasonable
food. Note that Atkins is not high protein so it
would be pointless for that purpose. On the other
hand if someone wanted to do a low carb program and
stay vegitarian, spirulina plus some vegan source
of fat would be an option. It looks like green dust. When I tasted it, I
remember thinking it tasted like what I imagined
green dust would taste like. Too mild too damage
the flavor of whatever I mixed it with, too
intensely colored to look anything but strange. -

It came and gone quick.
