IIRC, they don't work. Do a google search, someone measured wheel deflection and it was *worse* with
those things installed.

Someone may have done some sort of "study" that came to that conclusion, but that doesn't make it
true. I had a set of Spinergy Rev-X wheels and I installed the X beams on the front. They were
undoubtedly more stable and better-handling with them than they were without them. Do you really
think Spinergy bothered putting these little things on the market because they represented some big
profit potential or something?

Hi Steven, I have read the article you are talking about, but it just doesn`t seem to make sense to
me. I just can`t see how the x-beams could possibly make the wheel weaker. It would seem to me that
by connecting the carbon blades of the Rev-X with an X-beam the blades would help each other resist
flex. I don`t recall though, if the testing was done on the older wheels which were much more flexy,
or the newer ones that were stiffer.....

This is probably a band aid on instability when the tension in the lower spokes is reduced to zero.
It may not be much but under marginal circumstances could be the difference between collapsing a
wheel and not. Like tied spokes, increased stiffness will only exist in the mind of the rider.
