  1. Hi,

What's your opinion on the Spinergy Stealth SS wheelset? Has anyone
    used them?
I'm going to do sprint and olympic triathlons and a couple of half
ironmans next year, do yo recommend them?

    Thanks

I have never seen a Spinergy wheel that was worth nearly half of what they
asked for them. These wheels, more than most boutique wheels, are a
product of fad and fashion, not engineering.

Look at their history. First were the X (carrot choppers) that everyone
had to have, and pay big money for. But a crosswind could blow you off
the road, and they had a nasty habit of disintegrating. Next came the
Spox, with the absurd claim that those fat fiber spokes were more
aerodynamic than traditional spokes. They were far too loose to be
reliable, or to climb on without rubbing the rear brake. Still, people
had to have them, and spend another fortune. But no one rides them any
    longer.

These were each wheels that cost nearly $1000 a pair, and which made
outrageous claims of superiority. Now, no one rides either one. Why
would you suspect that their latest product is any better?

Not that light at 1620g, not relaible if the number we see to true is
    any indication..how much are they??

For the $, I think other wheels, aero, low spoke count, since as a
tri-person, that is what you are going to look at(for good or other
    reasons)
2007 Reynolds is going to use DT/Hugi hubs, i would loo at them.

I have never ridden the Stealth so I can not comment on them but I have
    owned other
Spinergy wheels. IMO Spinergy is the worst company for customer service. I
waited over a month for a replacement spoke more than once. I don't know
any bike shops that carry Spinergy any longer because of other customer
service issues. I would never purchase another product from them.
