  1. I have SPD-R cleats mounted to Northwave Evolution shoes
    (the ones with the carbon sole that screws in). I have been
    clever enough to strip the toe-side threads on the T-shaped
    backing plate. Is this backing plate an item custom to
    Northwave, or are they a dime-a-dozen like SPD backing
    plates? Better yet if anyone has any out there and can help
    me out – you can save my rain shoes. Thanks,-a

    If I understand you correctly, you need new Northwave specific plates.
