I'm from the deep south. Even though I like sweet iced tea, the most I can stand is a 1/2 cup of
sugar for 1 gallon of tea.
Southern Sweetened Iced Tea
6 teabags water
1/2 cup of sugar
I use 6 teabags ( any kind, the cheaper the better , in my mind) Boil some water andpour it over the
teabags, I do it all in the gallon Tupperware pitcher I use for tea. Let it steep for a while, then
squeeze out the teabags, add 1/2 cup of sugar and fill the pitcher until full. It'll keep far longer
than a day also, though it seldom lasts more than a couple anyway. 'Specially if it's warm outside.
