Southern Spain in winter?

On mountains night-time temperatures can go below -10C. Otherwise the conditions are fairly dry and
sunny. Conditions are in fact comparable to winter-time Nevada or Arizona, except there are more
roads worth biking and scenery is more interesting.

Flat-lands and valleys on the other hand are wet, muddy, and miserable. Do not follow the crappy
sothern coast - go to the high roads of northern spain and portugal.

The whole mediterranean coast of Spain is crowded with tourist resorts and is mostly no fun to ride.
As soon as you get 20 km inland it is a wholly different story:
- less people and less traffic
- a beautiful countryside
- ...more mountains too !

I love Spain.

A good tour would be Malaga to Ronda via El Chorro, Ardales, El Burgo. Then via Ubrique to Arcos de
la Frontera. Thence to Seville. Then north along river out of town, west to Osuna. Then Antequera.
Then back to Malaga. I've done this three times!
