  1. Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any experience of long stay secure car parking in Padstow? we
are starting the walk at Minhead. so would be wanting to drive to Padstow
( leaving the car) and take public transport to Minehead, to the start of
our walk. Having completed the Coast to Coast last summer we used Sherpa van
to carry our baggage on a daily basis, and what an excellent service they
offered!. Is there a similar service for the South West Coastal Path? I have
read in some of the guide books that some of the accommodation suppliers
offer a baggage forwarding service, is this true?

Lastly any recommendations for farmhouse accommodation would be appreciated,
We prefer to use farm accommodation as we believe in supporting the rural
    economy and communities.

    Many Thanks

    Rob

Just a thought, when I did the Thames I used PT to get to the start
    and back home.

Somewhere less touristy but busy might be better, such as Bodmin. There's a
bus from Padstow to Bodmin. Padstow parking is not good - overnight will be
    banned, cos it's so touristy!

    This has been suggested before:

Find a nice residential street park up and ring the doorbell of the
house with a bottle of wine and or a box of chocs in your hand. Say to
the nice lady who answers the door, "We are going to Minehead to walk
back to here would you mind keeping an eye on our car whilst we are
    away?"

I've done the first part (without ringing the bell) for periods up to
    a week.
