Hi all!
I am on Phase 1, Day 3 of the SBD. I have a question though. I am not
following the meal plans in the book but I am eating 6 times a day. I am
following all the "rules" just not the meal plans. My question
is........Will I still lose weight if I don't eat exactly what the meal
plans say? I am not sure if there is a "way" to eat, such as certain amounts
of protein etc at each meal. Thanks

Just how difficult can it be to restrict the amount of carbs you ingest?

Follow the rules and you'll lose weight. I completely ignored the menu
suggestions and my weight came off just fine. Some people like that kind of
thing -- a friend is doing South Beach instead of Atkins specifically because
SB has menu suggestions. I'm the opposite.OTOH, after I hit goal, I got a copy of Atkins For Life, which discusses
maintenance and has lots of sample menus at various carb levels. Again, I
never actually followed the menus, but it was interesting to see which most
resembled the way I'm eating. Like most South Beachers, I don't actually count
carbs, but I am eating between the 80-carb and 100-carb levels shown in the
Atkins for Life menus.Anyway, good luck with Phase 1. It gets a lot easier after about the 5th or
6th day.Daria
