  1. This morning the boy and I went out for a "practice" i.e. short ride. I am still trying to keep him
    off busy roads because he's a bit wobbly but we were gettting fed up with going up this road and
    nown the next and then back - ad nauseam and there are only so many Sunday mornings you can spend
    cycling round Homebase car park before they open.

    Slightly further afield meant crossing fast (it's a 40 limit but you'd never guess from the traffic)
    road (footbridge). Eventual target was some more open straight roads where you can see cars coming
    from a long way - but there isn't much traffic. We didn't get there as I saw a previously unmarked
    cycle path! The new housing estate has been built (more or less they are still at it) and, not only
    is nice and quiet, but all the paths are designated cycle paths! Bliss. Nice quiet training gound
    for the boy (and me) practising signalling and doing corners correctly, and all legal.
