I am making a seat. I need some pointers about what to use as seat cushion material. Prefabricated would be OK too. It is not for an ordinary bicycle seat. My legs might be higher with respect to my butt than while riding a bicycle normally. It might be a little larger than an ordinary bicycle seat. It should be softer or much softer. Control of the bicycle is not an issue.
I just need to know what sort of material is soft, spongy, springy, or otherwise good for soft seating material. Seems like it would be obvious, but I am having a very hard time figuring out what to use.

Thanks in advance.
I'd start with dense foams, like gardeners kneeling pads and portable camping/stadium seats. Softer, I'd add layers or go to upholstery foam.
A ventilated sling of woven nylon webbing might be more comfortable than any padding. -- zk
