I went out tonight aiming to do a regular circuit involving a steepish hill, Bardsey Bank, just
north of Leeds.
Anyway four miles out it starts raining quite softly but enough to make me cold. Abort idea of doing
big hill and decide to go home to avoid injury.
Travelling along the A64 nearly pushed off my bike by the "bow wave" from a coach. It wasn't
actually that close.
Slightly nearer home I'm in a mixed cycle & bus lane. This bus appears at the side of me less than
an arm span from me. Fortunately he was going quite slowly. I make a certain gesture to mean he's
"two" close.
He stops at the next stop clearly waiting for the timetable. Thinking polite is best I tell him he
was too close back then. With a shrug of the shoulders he tells me he was on the white line &
couldn't do anything else (a lie the road has three lanes at this point). He then goes on to say
there is CCTV on the bus. If this is true I'll try and get a copy under the Data Protection Act.
Knackers. I hope its fine tomorrow.
