    <shudder> Yikes. I sure hope he's ok.

    Someone was speculating that even if they get the current flood situation
    under control, there is still the possibility of Mississippi floods, due
    to the rains. A double whammy.

    The short version: they (he & his kayaking buddies) were supposed to be
    evacuated from the village they were staying in, but the water came up too
    fast. They had to stay put with the flood rising to right outside their
    door & "snapping trees like toothpicks" as he put it. :P
