well where i ride mountian bikes copperhead snakes are everywhere and laying on the trail and stuff and they coil up just off to the side of the trail and wait for you it seems like. what do ya'll do. i try to with er bunnyhop them of if i don't see it till the last minte or it is coming out of the grass i go around it if possible. but that is not always possible and had one strike at me but missed the other day and i am now terrified to get back out there

just ride past them carefully. My brother ran straight over a red belly black snake once and it did not try to get him - it was more keen to get out the way! I hate snakes - if I see one on single track whilst heading up a hill I will slow and wait for it to move or get off and chuck a stick at them to make them move. riding down hill is not a problem.

Seriously this is a good question. Here in NM we have plenty of rattlers too... when I've seen them on the trial I've waited for them to pass. But I know some day I'm not going to see one until too late, they usually blend in pretty well unless you seem em moving.
I wonder if they would strike at your leg or not know the difference and go for a rim/the bike. If you're moving at say 10mph would they even be able to strike accurately??? 😕 :eek: 😕
