  1. SMARTrain Alphaa 1.5 will be released Tue, April 15. SMARTrain is a linux/unix command shell (read
    text-based) application to track data and workout routines. This is an OpenSource tool that is free
    for download.

    The application will be available from my website located at aracnet.comsw.html.
    New additions/features include the following: 1 - Canned data reports viewable in HTML or txt
    format. 2 - Complete set of 'edit' tools for dates, bicycles, maintanance entries, user and system
    settings. 3 - File format conversion utility for those user who installed and tried Version 1.4 4 -
    Updated HTML-based documentation. 5 - Improved database format for faster loading.

    Upcoming Releases: Beta 1.0 will contain the following features -
    * - Maintenance update feature: Track when and where items on a given bicycle are due to be checked
    for repeair/replacement.
    * - Plotting of data: via GNUplot
    * - Import/Export to csv format (for use in Excel or other spreadhseets tools)
    * - Trend analysis.

    Upcoming Features:
    * - Port from Linux to Windows environment.
    * - Upcoming GUI interface under development.

    Which kind of license is it? Not much documentation on the site, is it contained in the tarball?

    Some things to consider: -port to PDAs/cell phones (well okay they run Linux and BSD and Windows
    these days) -is it suitable for other sports? can users define their own fields/data? -can you
    integrate with eg. heart rate records from Polar monitors? (Like record which gnuplot .jpg is the
    heart rate graph for that day) -can you put your logs on the web or even maintain them there?

    PS. Did you consider completely open development model, like sf.netsf.net ?
