Slime for road bikes?

I have recently tried some of the pre-filled slime tubes & I haven't
noticed any difference in the ride using 700x25 tyres. I got the tubes
from the redfrogracing ebay shop. They're fine so far but i didn't get
a lot of punctures anyway. Reading through some of the older posts
people didn't seem all that impressed with slime - most seem to opt
towards tyres with anti-puncture protection (like scwalbe marathon plus
or specialized armadillo's) or a tyre liner instead.

I already use Schwalbe Blizzard tyres, but wondered if Slime works well
enough to save me having to swap a tube on a 20 minute commute...

Currently I am not , but have used slime for years for business
riding.It feels slightly heavier in an ultra light tyre on a light
front wheel, although I have found that people in the family who did
not know it was there had no comment.It almost means you don't need to
carry a puncture kit, but do anyway and do take a pump and spare
tube.If a hole is big enough it may take a second for the slime to
block it, so yuo may want to top up the air.
The only problem I had was at the beginning of a tour when a valve
suddenly leaked and would not behave, so i changed the tube.I think
there was slime fibre in the valve.When deflating a tyre keep the valve
at 4 oclock and deflate slowly so that slime does not get into the
valve.
When I got round to mending I would often find two or three holes.
I think slime may have less effect on rolling resistance than the plus
of marathon plus, but that's just a vague impression.I have done tours
on both.

I've been using it on the trike since mid-January and can't feel any
difference, but it may be different with fewer wheels and/or a different
riding position.
