Slime is made form the same stuff as Marmite - love it or hate it.

I hate it. If your bike has been parked for more than an hour or so,
the slime pools at the bottom, making your ride feel lumpy.

It is also no use in presta valves since you just get the stuff oozing
out.

Awful stuff.

No, tubes to squirt into tubes IYKWIM, hoping to avoid problems with the
boys bikes (and mine) next year whilst trailling as the eldest seems to
keep finding thorns etc...

Nah, it's not that bad. If you don't tend to suffer much from punctures you
might find it an unnecessary inconvenience. If you suffer from punctures at
times when you need to get somewhere by a particular time, and like me you
only ever allow enough time to get there just in time - eg commuting to
work - slime can make a difference between getting there on time as usual or
getting in late with grubby hands. And if you don't like suffering delays,
particularly in bad weather, on the way home afterwards it's useful there
too. The stuff really does work to seal punctures on the fly. The only
reason I don't use it now is that I find kevlar belts better. They tend to
prevent punctures in the first place, without the mess.
