  1. Just a curious note - when I made my trip down to 9% bodyfat, the last
to leave was my love handles. In fact, at 40 years old, even at 9% I
    still noticed em.

Then I had a six-month layoff due to work, illness and injury. Ate
like a pig for the duration (my bad).. and I crept back up to 16%
    bodyfat.

I've just started back in the last couple months, and noticed
    something interesting.

I'm a fan of before and after photos. Helps me with motivation. Seems
that during my layoff (with no dieting, hence extra bodyfat) I've
gained size posterior to my love-handles. It looks as if I've
    installed kevlar-pads over my kidneys.

This is wierd to me - I've always thought that the last fat to leave
was the first fat to return.

Anyone had similar experiences? Even Republicans?

    Thanks

Yup. It would appear that fat deposition patterns are both gender AND age
dependent. I have also found an increase in that rear portion of the male
pattern fat deposition pattern as I've gotten older. I've not thought of it
before you mentioned it, but around 40 was when the pattern seemed to begin
    it's rearward march.

This doesn't explain why Democrats are such fat heads, however. That is,
    most likely, not related.

Oh great. And here I am trying to get ready for a Mexican beach in
December. Now I'll have to try to see how the back of my middle is
progressing. Of course, I have far enough to go that an XL t-shirt may
    be the only realistic plan.
