I don't know if this is the right forum for this question but... My wife just bought a 2004 Gary Fisher Cake 3dlx (15.5 " frame) from outr lbs. Now that she has it home she's freaking out that it looks and feels so big. The guy that fit her said it was the right size and that it felt big because bikes with a lot of travel always feel big. At 5'3" the standover height alone has her a little high centered . Does any one have experience with this bike. Can you ease her mind or do we need to head back to the shop different bike?
My wife is about 5'2" and rides a 15.5 GF Tassajara, however the difference between the build of the two bikes and the build of the two women, make that comparison worthless. she should take it right back and try one smaller until she finds the "feel" she wants!
Thanks for the reply. She likes the feel of the bike and I think the cockpit fits great. I think she's just a little psyched that it "looks" bigger and that she sits higher off the trail than her old hardtail. I think she was looking for a little reassurance after dropping the cash that she hadn't been talked into something that was crazy big for her.
