  1. Hi Guys,

First of all it's great to have such a neat forum consisting of all you bike enthusiasts, I'm looking to have a great time here.

I have a quick question regarding the design of the lights that you guys use to ride at night. It seems like many companies are now using MR11 reflectors in their bike lights. (note: the MR-11s stand for 11/8" of an inch whereas the MR-16s stands for 16/8", which is exactly two inches wide). Would you guys feel that the MR-16s will be too bulky? How about the shape of the lights? Do you guys prefer just a cylinderlike housing or a polygonal housing?

Any other feedback on your "ideal" light would be very helpful 🙂

    Thanks guys!

    Tim

MR11 really needs a bigger reflector. I get mroe usable light on the road with a mr16. http://www.knight-toolworks.com/web_temp_pics/bike5.jpg
you can get a bit smaller light housing but it is not that big of a deal. http://www.knight-toolworks.com/web_temp_pics/bikelight5.JPG
here is my first mr11. it worked fien really.
but with a mr16 you have less choice of angles in a say 20 watt bulb. right now I like 17 degrees and I can only get a 35 watt bulb. but man it sure puts otu the light (G) I can light a whole road lane nice and bright. but my sub c's only last about 1.5 hours at most.

  3. Would you guys feel the MR-16s would be too bulky though?
