My question is in regards to a fork upgrade. I ride an 05' GT Ruckus 1.0 with six inches of rear travel and a Rock Shox Psylo SL fork (5 inches of travel). Being an avid cyclist since back in the day (I remember the days of the Quadra), I have always been impressed with its ability to take the bumps. I also enjoy the adjustability (compression/rebound damping especially), although some of it I don't need/use (ride height, lockout). My only complaints are the short travel (I want more, at least 6 in.) and lack of rigidity (small stanchions, single crown). I have been looking at the Marzocchi Junior T (I want double crown, period) I am willing to spend a max of $400 (+springs/oil if necessary). No more.
If I buy one:
-Can my bike support a double crown fork?
-Aside from the increased travel, how will ride quality compare?
-Should I get the 2004 or 2005 model? Why? (no 06' $$$)
-Does the OS designation of the Junior T OS signify differences that I should worry about? (there seems to be a price difference)
-Where do I get the stiffer springs that I will need due to my 225 lbs?
-What type of oil do these babys require?
Any other comments?
Thanks in advance.
