Simplex Retrofriction Downtube Shifters
The best friction shifters ever made. Used in excellent condition. No rust
or scrapes/gouges. These have small springs inside them that load up when
you push the lever down. Then when you pull them back against the derailleur
tension, the spring helps out. These have a very light precise action.
Here is what you get:
Two (yes: 2) right hand shifters and one left hand shifter. One of the right
hand shifters is imprinted "Simplex"; the others have no markings. You also
get a new spare left and a spare right spring. I don't know why I had spare
springs: I have never heard of these breaking or wearing out. All the
stainless steel washers are included - I checked the parts inventory on
these very carefully. Not included are bolts to hold these onto the shifter
bosses. The originals were cheap zinc-plated units that I threw away. You
can fit these shifters with standard bolts available at any hardware store
or any bike shop (same as for attaching water bottle cages). Treat yourself
to stainless steel or titanium bolts. You also get 2 used shifter cables.
