But still silver fillings is old technology. The newer dentists
    are using white composite fillings.

Who, in today's world, wants to smile and expose their pearly whites
with silver covered fillings for all to see?

You are talking cosmetics not health here. Dentists have been using color
matched restoration materials on the front visible surfaces of teeth for
many, many years. The fact remains that if amalgams released toxic levels of
mercury into the body, mercury poisoning would be VERY common. Actually, the
disease is rare and is nearly always associated with industrial exposure,
consumption of mercury bearing fish, or use of mercury in occult religious
    practices.
