  1. CP seems to be the power meter software of choice, so this is almost a thread about the merits of a CP enhancement. My question is whether there is a value to being able to tag a ride segment as a performance test. The definition of performance test is that we intentionally rode the segment at either a max power for a fixed duration or a max duration at a fixed power. At the moment, we can use existing tools in CP to "find" MMP efforts for different durations and within specific date ranges, but these can include all sorts of rides (crits, RRs, TTs, solo training rides, group rides, trainer rides, etc.). Obviously, motivation and course conditions will vary widely when we include all of these types of rides. Whereas we could do performance tests under more controlled conditions (course, motivation, etc.). The advantage I see is comparability from test to test. Thoughts?

Would the ability to code entire files as "performance days", have them show up in the Calendar in a different color, and be able to select just those files as a sub-set for further analysis satisfy your desires?

Well, it's really about being able to specify an additional criterion for charts and graphs. For example, a time series graph of 20min max AP, or an MMP curve including only performance segments. Just basically being able to generate charts and graphs including only those segments.

Assuming one can use "performance days" as a selection criterion, I think this would accomplish the same purpose. I was going to the segment level but I think it would work at the ride file level as well.

Start another athlete named TEST only, and copy your test efforts into there.

That way, in your own profile you still have all of your workouts. In TEST, you have selected workouts and would obviously change the charts and reports to be more relevant to this.

I hope I get a kickback from CP as everyone will have to upgrade their registrations 😉

    That's a clever workaround. Thanks.😎
