The question came to mind while watching the Twilight Criterium tonight.
Is a shorter person, 5' 4" (such as myself), a disadvantage when racing at any level assuming they are properly conditioned?
Thanks,

I'm 5' 7", but have noticed that most cyclists have a small build. I put on muscle responably easily which most tall people can not. You should weigh less and have less areo drag.
Not anymore, realize that the percentage gain from aerodynamic improvements and your reduced frontal area and assumed weight give you an advantage.
Keep training. if you are muscular and have a high fast twitch ratio you may become a hell of sprinter.
In cycling height means nothing. The Vincente Belda, former pro and currently director sportif of Kelme is 5'2". Physically the most important parts of cycling are strength to weight ratio and power output.
