  1. Back in June I was asking for recommendations for trainer style shoes
    compatible with clipless pedals and suitable for DW's short fat feet.
    Today we finally bought a pair.

    It was the third time that we'd looked in Avon Valley Cyclery in the
    hope of finding some suitable shoes. The first time we found a pair
    that would probably have been suitable if they'd had the next size down.
    The second time there was nothing. This time she found a pair that
    fit perfectly.

    Surprisingly enough, they were Shimano (the Diadora ones looked
    promising, but were uncomfortable). Still more surprisingly, given that
    she normally ends up with boys' shoes (women's shoes tend to be too
    narrow), they were Shimano women's shoes. MT40, size 39:
