shoe for both road and mtb?

Higher-end mountain bike shoes are often very similar to the road bike shoes of the same brand; i.e. they have the same stiff sole and such, it's just that the cleat bolt pattern holes are different, and there are studs added to it.

I use Sidi fire's, Had them a few years now, not even sure if they are still available. They were fine when all I did was MTB, now i've switched to road riding they are light enough to use still. THey might not be as stiff as a full road shoe but they are close. Got to take out the big toe studs though, not that I used these off road either. Looked at some new shimano off road shoes the other day and they were only slightly bulkier than My fires so I'm sure there are still shoes about that will double duty.

Have you looked at the Shimano Touring shoes? I think the moel number is SH T-092. They have a low relief sole, very walkable, but are shaped like a road shoe, with good stiffness. I like mine.

I have the Shimano SH-MO70 that was made for mountain biking and touring. I use it for my road bike and my mountain bike. They stopped making it.
