Today I saw a picture of Travis Brown riding a 26 inch bike in a cyclocross race, and it looked like his forks were a suspension fork crown with solid fork legs rather than suspension legs. It may be that it's just looks like that, but it did get me thinking that I have an old suspension fork crown, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get some straight fork legs to clamp into it- or if this is even a good idea. Thats the way a few rigid forks were done back when front suspension was not very common
I really doubt they are a suspension crown with straight legs
I can't see why trying to make some up would be a good idea because you end up with a heavy crown plus extra flex due to the mechanical join
you can buy carbon rigid forks with that sort of design for trials and stuff check out these carbon fibre forks by pace

Thanks for the reply- I'm not real serious about it, I just thought it was an interesting idea. You're right about the weight and the flex. The forks in the link you sent look really good- too bad I can't afford the carbon....
