Hello, I just purchased an 03' Raleigh c-200 Cross. It came with Shimano ST-EF29 brake/shifters. It also has the words "ci-deck, plus" written on them. I see where the brake and shifter cables attach. But there is a third connector port with nothing attached. What attaches here? Maybe a computer? I've been out of biking a long time. I need beginner help. I have no real manuals on the specific componets of this bike. Thanks.

Shimano describe their CI Deck system thus:
"The CI-Deck is a large easy-to-read derailleur position display that makes it easier for young and beginning cyclists to understand gearing. Centrally located on the handle bars between the shift levers, the large CI-Deck gauges are extremely easy to read so gears can be verified at a glance.
The new CI-Deck Plus system, consisting of separate speedometer, odometer and clock/stopwatch modules, can be easily added to CI-Deck in any desired combination. CI-Deck Plus allows cyclists to set up a custom cycling information display any way they want it. "
The additional port on the shifter connects to the deck, should you feel the need for it

Ian, Thanks for your answer. Very few people had any info, including my bicycle shop. They had to check with a Shimano rep, and he evidently didn't have as much info as you gave me. Thanks, Don
