shimano bottom bracket replacement

rikoshea=-<< I am replacing the bottom bracket on my MTB. Its a BB UN73 and the package says "no
maintenance, simple to install". Since I'm just replacing the BB, is this simply a case of screwing
out the old shimano bottom bracket and screwing in the new one with the shimano BB tool ? Is there
any potential problems I should be aware of ?

Tap the right cup off if possible, grease in there. Grease inside left cup also, BB shell should be
faced at least on right side. Threads clean, grease into the BB shell, install tight.

It's easy enough, the only difficulty is the shallow teeth on the BB tool and the tendency for it to
slip. Some tools come with a positive hold down bolt, if you don't have one of these, you can make
your own easily with an appropriately sized bolt & some washers. This will allow you to get enough
torque without slipping and damaging the tool/bb. Lube the threads.
