I heard on some news site that they were releasing it to bike manufacturers
for their '07 ranges, but were only selling it separately with next year's
groupsets (in the Autumn I guess).

I was considering the Mongoose Sabrosa Ocho, but I decided against it
because the frame/fork doesn't fit with the alfine retro look.

I would love to build up a minimalist frame with Alfine (in black).

I don't think the US is getting any bikes with Alfine this year, so I
suppose we should think ourselves lucky.

Shimano I expect. It's in the dealer catalogue and the pricelist. Just
don't expect the mailorderhouses flogging leftovers cheap
