Shimano 105 Crank Disassembly

<< Can anyone out there give me some advice on taking Shimano 105 cranks off? Once the bolt caps are
off it seems that the puller tool that threads onto the arm just pushes through the b.b. spindle (it
is hollow). It is a basic 105 group on a 5 year old bike. Is there a special puller or am I missing
something obvious? Any help would be appreciated. >><BR><BR>

Sounds like a spline BB with big inside diameter. You can get a plug at a decent LBS or use a cutoff
axle, inside the BB spindle, with a crank bolt on one end to push against.

The plug peter is referring to is Shimano Part #TL-FC15.

Mine came with the crankset...I found it in the bottom of my tool draw after buying a new one :-(

Hah, just had the same thing happen to me after buying not one, but two plastic axle remover tools
for my old Shimano 105 pedals. Turns out this tool came with the pedals and was hiding out in the
bottom of my toolbox. Now I am blessed with three of them.
