  1. I recently bought a Ironhorse Sinister 6.1 and I was wondering if I was going to upgrade the Shimano SL-TX307R, Shimano SL-TX30LN shifters would need to upgrade the derailleurs as well the derailleurs are a DNP 34.9 up front and Shimano RD-M360 in the rear?

also I have an older Jeep full suspension mountain bike and the Front and rear Gear sets are worn and/or bent and need to be replaced. my question is since this is a 7 speed rear cassette I would like to go to a 8 or 9 speed cassette I know I would need to replace the Shifters but would I also need to replace the Derailleurs also I believe that the Derailleurs are Shimano XT units I am thinking I would need to replace them with a unit that is made for the same gear # as the shifters/cassettes but I just wanted to verify.

    thank you for any help.
