Shifter cables -downtube

Huge-<< I stopped by the LBS for new shifter cables for my commuter with downtube shifters. The
"knob" on the end is too big for the hole in the shifter. I can take one in to check next time, but
is there a different size for downtube shifter cables? >><BR><BR>

Some shifters need smaller mushrooms..go to a bike shop that 'qui si parla Campagnolo', and they
should have ones with smaller ends.

No, although there is some variation between cable brands. You can sand the cable head, drill the
shift lever, or get a different cable. If you take the bike (or just one shift lever) with you to
the shop you can try the cables they have for fit.
