Actually, he said that the winner of the Tour and the lantern rouge riders
were the only ones remembered, not the next to the last place finisher. He
went on to say that he was in the LR spot but finished the Tour that year
3rd from the last. Liggett's answer was "So there you go, and no one
remembers you for it," or something like that.
