Very simple recipe for Shepherd's Pie...
Shepherd's Pie
2-3 lbs ground beef 1 can cream of mushroom (or celery) soup 1 pkg carrots grated 1 med onion
chopped 1 gr pepper chopped instant mashed potatoes
Prepare inst. mashed potatoes for 8-10 servings. While browning ground beef with onion, pepper, and
carrots. Drain and add mushroom soup. Spread into greased baking pan. Spread Mashed potatoes on top
of ground beef mixture (for a more attractive dish you can pipe mashed potatoes using a cake
decorator bag). Bake in 350 oven until mashed potatoes are golden brown.
Can also sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of mashed potatoes. I prefer the instant rather
than homemade mashed because the water evaporates and leaves the potatoes more like a soft crust.
Other people have been known to layer canned veggies (i.e. corn, green beans, peas etc), but this is
the easiest thing to make. Also to give it a little bit more of a zippy taste add a Tbsp of
Worcestershire Sauce into the mushroom soup mixture.
Enjoy!!
