I don't think I was 'crying'. Just pointing out that someone who does what Sheldon has done really
    should be shunned - permanently.

Shunned...suspicious word. Might thee be a lapsed brethren?

Then you won't have to suffer through my rantings or anybody else's for that matter. It was a
suggestion, not an order - which *would* have given weight to your accusation of 'net cop'.

It sounded whiney to me, like a siren...

So you start a thread about him? Me thinks you gots more problems than he does. This is just a

And I end this thread here. (at least for me). I said what I thought and have no more issues,
either with those who objected to my comments or with Sheldon. As has been pointed out; This is
    usenet. Ken.

Is there anyone here who now thinks that Sheldon (aka penmart01) is amusing or harmless after his
unthinkingly cruel comments about Michael's situation? One can only hope that he is permanently
killfiled by the thinking persons among us.

He is amusing, but so is Kent H. I have no idea how harmless or harmful he is. Does it really
matter? This is usenet. Who fuggin cares what he, or anyone else posts.

Want to see Him at his last job before he retired? I'm pretty sure this is him.

And a very well-deserved position it is!

Michael's recovery is good news indeed. Merry Christmas to him and all of you. Regards. Ken.

I never saw what Sheldon said nor do I care to. I killfiled him after he started calling me a [censored]
star. The guy has some serious mental issues.

Nah, he just thinks with his smaller head... ;-)

Obviously, if you have such a highly evolved opinion of him (as opposed to a highly evolved
opinion of his postings), you must read (and take to heart) what he posts, in which case you have
nothing to complain about as you are in no way forced to read any posts made on this or any other
newsgroup. Basically, it's caveat lector here. If you don't like it, don't read it any more. If
you do, don't complain about it.

But, but, but, isn't this the anarchy of usenet where he has just as much of a right to complain as
Sheldon does to be deliberately offensive??? :-)

The ultimate in freedom of speech!

I might not agree with all posts, but I'll defend to the death anyone's right to post whatever they
want, as long as they make the attempt to add something on topic. <G> And don't spam. (openly
anyway, sig's seem to be acceptable except for on the sourdough group. :-P )

Of course, with political or religious posts, all bets are off. ;-) That's when you simply
    killfile threads.

Call Sheldon what you will, but don't call him unthinking. I'm sure that he does everything that he
    does with malice aforethought.

And one can only hope that his enemies stop creating entire threads about him.

    Um...yes. Not always, but usually.

Not only that, but he's usually right about cooking-related topics. Not always, but usually.

What the hell do you care what anybody else does? Why do you attempt to ostracise? If you don't like
his posts, don't read his posts. Sheesh.

Well YOU can't seem to get him off of your mind. Face it. You are obsessed with him.

He's got you RIGHT where he wants you. He won. You lost miserably.

Face reality. You are powerless against Sheldon.

Yes...and no. Offense is in the eyes of the beholder and by Usenet convention and barring anything
illegal which should be reported, such as child pornography and what not, it is up to the beholder
to remove him or herself from the point of offense. In other words, he should not impose upon
others his own views. That being said, of course everyone is free to do it, whether it is
    appreciated or not.

However, I was pointing out to Ken that his insistence on approaching the issue of Sheldon while he
has him killfiled puts him in a difficult situation. Although I also have a superficially similar
relationship with The, I at least do not use the killfile to stifle his dexter meanderings while
    asking others to shun him.

Well, so it's a case of what's good for the goose is not applicable to the gander? If you favour
freedom of speech you MUST include the difficult topics as well as the easy ones. Freedom of speech
is only valuable if it transcends normal behaviour.
