Sheffield Stands bolted to the ground

I wondered the same when I saw the new ones at Durham station. There are
some out there that have an additional cross bar meaning the lock couldn't
normally be slipped off , but these don't seem to be used as often.

Yes. Someone where I work had a bike stolen that way.
