Hello,
I'm 40 and have been running for the past 2 years, about 5 miles per
run, 3 times per week.
Recently a sharp pain has developed in the back/middle of my left knee.
It seems to come from the inside area of the knee, possible back of
knee, and not from any outside edge of the knee area; not the knee cap.
The pain flars up when I come to a stop to wait for lights at an
intersection. The pain jolts when I put pressure to stand on the leg
and I must immediately remove weight off the leg. Once I hobble several
steps and slowly start up the running again after stopping, the pain
will subside and go away.
I've reviewed both the ITB symptoms as well as Runners Knee
(Chondromalacia) and neither of those symptoms sound like what I have.
I would appreciate any thoughts and comments.
Regards,
Eric
