Re posting the comment I made yesterday regarding Serendipity III, and
the owner Steve Bruce.
My name is Ruth (Davis) Turi
I am a real person, not a PR as you would like people to believe. I
have known Steve since 1945, graduated high school with him, knew him
when people were real people. He has not changed since then, changed
maybe by gaining the wisdom of life itself. Steve was a visionary
then, an artist by nature, an interpreneur, State of the Art...if
there was such a thing then, a traditional and finally one of the
finest gentlemen that I have ev er met. He has earned the right to be
called "CELEBRITY", earned the right to continue his business all of
these years in New York City. He WILL continue his dream, and come
back ten times better than before. Mark my words, Steve will and can
do it. I have also earned the right to spell his name the way I knew
it to be back in high school.
They say it today....54 years later, "Build It And They Will Come." He
has built it, and he will re-build with gusto!
REPEATED FROM YESTERDAY IS THE FOLLOWING:
I have eaten there. Steven Bruce, owner is a historic enterpreneur. He
brought hot chocolate (a 40s comfort drink), ice cream (a vintage
comfort food), UNCANNY, INOVATIVE, AHEAD OF HIS TIME, RETRO
GENTLEMANLY PERSONALITY, HUMOR, AND UNLIMITED talent into and beyond
2008 into the WORLD OF STATE OF THE ART CULINARY BUSINESS AT
SERENDIPITY III.
He is a self-made CELEBRITY, with a record of being in the business
for 54 years without question. He has committed his life to DESSERTS
and FOODS. He has given all of these generations his talents through
his ideas and humor. His track record beats most of us "cooks". We can
learn from him. His latest innovation "The $25,000. dessert" seems to
have topped the record for ideas. Me thinks that someone in the health
department did not like his newest dessert and handed him a downer by
closing Steve down. Sorry, Steve, but I know that you can sweep up the
"dirt" thrown at you, and recover quickly with a newer and even better
interpretation of what your brilliant mind can do. I GIVE STEVE BRUCE
FIVE STARS FOR HIS 54 YEARS IN NEW YORK CITY BUSINESS!
