I wonder if someone could offer any informal diagnosis possibilities
for this problem please. I'm a 62 year old male, in generally good
health, not overweight, non smoker. For two days I've had the
following combination of symptoms, which I'm assuming may be related:
1. Having to pass water frequently. (That's even more frequently than usual! I've had problems of
that sort for 10 or 20 years and am pretty well reconciled to it. My GP examined my prostate
about 5 years ago and found no problem.) Actually, that aspect has eased off this afternoon -
it's been maybe 3 hours since I last had to pee - but this morning I must have had to go 4 times
in 2 hours. Quantity was OK (I'd been drinking water as well as my usual tea and coffee), and
colour OK to a layman's eye.
2. Mild burning sensation when I do.
3. Very sensitive skin in a localised area:
- around my right groin
- lower right abdomen (the latter close to where I had a 'modern' hernia repair about 11 years ago,
but doubt that's relevant.
- most of thigh down close to knee. It's best described as very tender, rather like bruising,
although there's nothing visible.
Could it be some sort of infection? (I've taken 2 Ibuprofen twice so far today; I *think* that made
a diffrence.) Or, totally different thought, could it somehow have stemmed from sitting awkwardly on
a high stool at my workshop bench for a couple of days?
Would appreciate any advice please. Haven't so far thought it worth going to my GP.
