Jan copped an award at the recent world awards ceremony, apparently the global equivalent of 'everyone gets a ribbon' day.
Other recipients were Sigfried, Roy, various surviving Bee Gees, Yousaf Islam (former Cat Stevens), Karl Lagerfeld and The Pet Shop Boys. No mention of Kaptain Robbie Knievel, though.

Take that, Lance!
Sounds like an award comparable to Nothstein's 'Father of the Year'.

It's rather indicative of the nature of media today. Hamilton displayed true grit in not just finishing, but finishing well, winning a stage and was a fair-play competitor to boot (note: he alerted the peleton on Stage 9, when LA went off road, too.)
Where's the press coverage? Remember when Kerri Strug stuck a landing in the Olympics and she became America's sweetheart? Tyler deserves better, but what with Kobe cornholing an unwilling woman, guess where the press goes?
There once was a time when Tyler would have been as much lauded as Lance. Only those who follow the sport have an inkling, as opposed to the glib repartee on Late Nite or Tonight Show which enlightens not.
