I have a micro-adjust seatpost on the bike. Yesterday it slipped, ie the saddle tipped nose down. I admit that I only did up the hex bolt using a multitool, so it may have been too loose. I was trying to get the best saddle position whilst out on a ride.
Anyway, on taking the saddle off completely I note that the milled lines on the post are worn at one end, and there was some metal swarf in there. I swapped the upper mounting around and tightened up. Any tips for redoing the milled lines? Maybe take a small file to them? Ideas?
I have a richey post which is just smooth where the seat tilts, relying on friction alone to stay put. I've only ever used a multitool to tighten it and I've never had any slippage. All I would do with yours is tighten it a bit more than usual and then wince as you strip the threads on the bolt...
