Seat Lowering?

I'm considering lowering the seat on my Lightning Thunderbolt about 1.25 inches. At the same time I'd like to lean the seat back a little more. This means trimmimg the seat stays since the seat is already leaned back as far as it can go. Has anyone here tried this on a T-Bolt or any other SWB bike? If so, how did it work out? Jerry
