  1. Hi

It appears a common method for adjusting the seat on a normal bike is to
have your leg slightly bent with your heel on the pedal at the bottom. Does
this formula work with a recumbent too, i am currently deciding on the bb
/seat position for a recumbent i am building.

    Any advice appreciated

I'd replace "bottom" with "full extension", since they differ on a
'bent. That nitpick aside, it seems to give a good place to start. A
key difference between the 'bent and the DF (you may already know this)
is that on the DF you're essentially measuring from your sit bones to
the crank - on the 'bent you're measuring from your lower back/upper
buttocks to the crank. Google x-seam, or search for it on
www.bentrideronline.comn or www.hostelshoppe.com for good explanations.

    Hope this helps,

    John
