Where did Phonak come from?! I realize there are probably other categories but I find it odd that Phonak lands 2nd in the Official Team Ranking but are not in the top 5 for any of the others mentioned here.

    Agreed... bravo Giovanni Lombardi!!

I'm very impressed with Team CSC's development over the past couple years! I'll be watching them closely this year - especially how they work as a team to support Basso in the Giro & TdF.

Phonak managed to finish second on the basis that although their number of wins during the season was low, due to the scoring system of the Pro-Tour they managed to accumulate a lot of points for high finishing positions for their riders in races.

It is an anomaly of the points system that a team like Phonak could finish ahead of a team who had substantially more wins ie Quick Step.

The Pro-Tour and the points..... I really don't like the point system....
