So looks like I'm going to have some time in early Aug to take some
time to myself and do some out of town riding (I live in S. Forida,
where it's really hot (now) and flat). I'm looking for some riding
where I can do perhaps 100 mi/day and get some decent climbing (not
killer, but challenging) with some moderate weather (hopefully goes
hand in hand with the altitude).
I was thinking perhaps somewhere in NC - Boone, perhaps? But being in
South Florida, I'm hoping ot not have to kill all that much time
traveling there (I think Boone is like a 14 hour drive for me).
I'm looking for perhaps Georgia, NC, SC for some somewhat cooler riding
for a few days. Perhaps even get some cabin somewhere to ride, and
then relax in the evening.
Anyone have any (good ;-) suggestions? Towns, rental facilities,
weather patterns of some towns this time of year, whatever suggestions
welcomed...
