  1. I dropped a package off at the UPS store today, and got into a little chat
with the guy who was repairing copiers about mountain biking... maybe the
fact that my bike was on top of the car, and I was dressed to go had
something to do with it. He only knew of one area to ride in (Beacon) and
mentioned that he like to ride the Dishman Natural area which is the ONLY
area in the region that is closed to bikes and horses!!! RRRRR! I
politely pointed out to him that we are extremely fortunate to not have
trail conflicts and closures in this area, and that perhaps he ought to
respect the closure. Especially since just outside the fenceline of the
area is plenty of old dirt bike trails. I gave suggestions for many other
places to ride... ( Riverside only has 75+ miles of trails, High Drive,
Marshall, Liberty Lake, Mt Spokane, Canfield, ,Farragut.....) I suggested
he pick up the little trail guide for the area put out by Falcon, and
mentioned some of the shops that do weekly rides. It was a pretty good
conversation, and he did say, "well I guess I won't be riding there
    anymore..."

Had a fun little 10 mile singletrack tour with Tuffgirl who has been busy
with ill parents and it's really cut into her riding time.

    Nice!

Man, that conversation is tough to initiate. Bravo!
